Supported document types

Periscope verifies documents for two kinds of subjects: individuals and legal entities. The document picker groups its options the same way.

Individuals

  • Identity documents. Passports, national ID cards, and driver's licenses used to confirm who someone is.
  • Proof of address. Utility bills, bank statements, and similar documents used to confirm where someone lives.

Legal entities

  • Incorporation documents. Certificates and records that establish a company's existence.
  • Tax documents. Registration certificates and other documents that confirm a company's tax status.
  • Proof of address. Documents confirming a company's registered or operating address.
  • Ownership documents. Records showing who owns or controls the company, such as share registers.

This list reflects what Periscope supports today. It will grow and change as we add coverage, so treat it as a guide rather than a fixed catalog.

If you're not sure

Documents vary by country and issuer, and not every variant will be listed by name. If you can't find your document in the picker, or you're not sure which category it falls under, choose "Not sure? Identify it for me." Periscope will look at the document and tell you what it appears to be, so you can confirm and continue.
