Periscope reads identity and financial documents, so how we handle them matters. This is the plain-language version of what happens to your data.

Periscope is a demo built and operated by Binderr Limited (C1, Midland Micro Enterprise Park, Triq Burmarrad, Naxxar, Malta), the company behind Binderr. When this policy says “we”, it means Binderr Limited. For anything to do with your data, write to privacy@binderr.com.
Because Periscope handles identity and financial documents, we treat it under the EU General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR), with Binderr Limited as the data controller.
When you run a check, your document is prepared on your own device, resized and optimised, and then sent to our server, which passes it to Binderr's own vision model for reading. The model runs on infrastructure we control, in the EU.
Your document is never sent to a third-party AI provider. There is no OpenAI, Anthropic, Google, or other external model in the loop. Reading and verification happen entirely within systems we operate in the EU.
We do not sell your documents or the data read from them, and we never will.
Every check you run is saved as history, a thumbnail and the result, in your browser's own storage, on the device you are using. It is not copied to an account or a server you can sign into, and it does not follow you to another device or browser.
You are in control of it. Delete a single check or clear the lot from within the app, and it is genuinely removed from your device.
Periscope is an early-access demo, and we are still improving how well it reads documents. To do that honestly, and to understand who is trying it, we keep a private internal record of each check: the document image, the result the model produced, and the email address you signed in with.
This record is stored in the EU, behind the login, and is visible only to the Binderr team. It is used to review accuracy, fix problems, and follow up with people evaluating Periscope. It is not shown to other users and is not sold or shared for advertising.
If you would like your records removed, email privacy@binderr.com and we will delete them.
The login asks for your email alongside the demo code so we know who is evaluating Periscope. We remember it on your device so you only type it once; you can clear it by clearing your browser storage for this site.
We use that email to attribute the checks in the internal record above, and to contact you about your interest in Periscope. We do not add you to a marketing list from this demo.
We measure how Periscope is used so we can make it better. This analytics is metadata only: the type of document checked, scores and timings, whether steps succeeded, and counts of actions. It is drawn from a fixed, reviewed list of properties.
It never includes the document image or any field read from a document. Analytics data is held under EU-resident settings.
If you ask for early access from the landing page, we collect the email address you enter. That is all the form collects, and we use it only to contact you about access to Periscope. We do not add you to a marketing list from it, and we do not sell it.
These details are handled by our form provider on our behalf (which may process them outside the EU) and notified to the Binderr team so we can follow up. Ask us at privacy@binderr.com to remove your details at any time.
If you use the contact form, we collect the name, email address, and message you enter, and we use them only to reply to you and follow up about Periscope. We do not add you to a marketing list from it, and we do not sell it.
These details are handled by our form provider on our behalf (which may process them outside the EU) and passed to the Binderr team so we can respond. Ask us at privacy@binderr.com to remove your details at any time.
Periscope keeps a small amount of data in your browser to work: a sign-in session so you stay logged in, your remembered email, and light preferences such as light/dark mode and your last-used document type. Your check history is also stored there.
We do not use advertising or cross-site tracking cookies.
Reading and verification run on our own infrastructure in the EU. Our hosting, storage, and analytics providers act on our instructions as processors, configured for EU data residency. Documents are handled within the EU, end to end.
Under the GDPR you can ask us for a copy of the personal data we hold about you, ask us to correct or delete it, object to or restrict how we use it, and ask us to stop contacting you.
To exercise any of these, email privacy@binderr.com. You also have the right to complain to your local data protection authority; in Malta that is the Information and Data Protection Commissioner (idpc.org.mt).
Periscope is evolving quickly, and this policy will change as it does. When the substance changes, we update the date at the top. Because this is a demo, we may add features that handle data differently. This page will always describe what the current version actually does.
